The College of Education (CEd) of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) is now the Center of Excellence (COE) among 100 Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) in Region III. The title was formally awarded on July 16, 2010 at the Commission on Higher Education Office in Diliman, Quezon City.
CEd was identified and recognized as COE for excellent performance in providing quality instruction, research and extension services in Teacher Education per CEB Resolution no. 188-2010.
CEd is among the 12 COEs awarded in 2010 in addition to the existing 15 nationwide. There are only two COEs in Central Luzon, the other is Angeles University Foundation (AUF) in Angeles City, Pampanga.
“We are proud of the collaborative effort by faculty, staff and students of CEd. The college has been working very hard for this title and it is a dream fulfilled” said Dr. Rhodora I. dela Rosa, CEd Dean.
There are now 17 centers of excellence and 10 centers of development in the country. CEd was recognized as Center of Development in 1997.
Dr. Dela Rosa attended the awarding with Dr. Ruben C. Sevilleja, CLSU President and Dr. Danilo G. Tan, CLSU Vice-President for Academic Affairs. CHED Chairman Emmanuel Y. Angeles headed the awarding of the certificates.
