The College of Education through its three departments held an annual outreach program to selected schools and community as part of the Education Week celebration on November 30-December 4, 2010.

The CEd First Year department launched a feeding program to some 500 pupils of Bical Elementary School, Science City of Muñoz, while the elementary education department visited Villa Quizon Elementary School and launched poster making contest, christmas card making contests, spelling bee and parlor games.

“The feeding program will also be extended to other schools in the future. We really would like to expand this program.” said Mr. Jonnie Payoyo, CEd Student Council president.

Secondary Education department visited Caanawan High School. A poster making contest was held by the department and the TLE, Mathematics and Social Studies majors helped in painting the tree guard of the said school.
Moreover, a clean-up drive dubbed as “Sagip Kalikasan,”  was initiated by the  extension education department in the Science City of Munoz proper.

“We hope that even in our little ways, we were able to share the spirit of volunteerism and christmas to these schools and community. Teaching really does not end in the four walls of  the classroom. Extending help and time to other people and bringing joy to their hearts even just for a while completes the idea of being a mentor,” said Dr. Rhodora I. dela Rosa, CEd dean.
