RESEARCH

The College added research as one of the additional courses in its undergraduate teacher education program. CED, through the College of Education Research Unit (CERU), publishes its annual research journal, The Education Digest. Research outputs of students and faculty members are also presented in the CED Annual Research Congress.

RESEARCH

 College of Education Research Unit

The College of education Research Council was officially organized and took into effect in 2007 to cater research activities of the college.  It is manned by highly equipped faculty member, the Research and Publication Coordinator, to coordinate the research endeavours of the faculty, graduate and undergraduate students.  It also caters all research related activities in relation to research undertakings of the different units and departments of the College of Education.

The College of Education Research Unit is the highest policy making body in terms of research and strategic studies.  Its heads are with the following qualifications:

  • Members of the University Academic Research Council (UARC) which is under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
  • Holds a position of at least Assistant Professor IV based on the National Budget Circular (NBC) 461 evaluation of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

 Main Functions of the College of Education Research Unit:

  • Approve the College of Education Research Agenda which was formulated by the CED faculty members.
  • Approve proposed research policies and plans upon the recommendation of the College of Education Research and Publication Coordinator.
  • Approve research proposals from the College of Education Fund and upon endorsement to the Office of the College Dean, then the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
  • Approve budget allocation from the College of Education Publication Fund for research activities.
  • Caters the review and publications of research outputs.
